There will always be a necessary trade off tension between privacy and security so it would be unwise for us to get caught up in an extreme view, nor would this be necessarily a core policy during elections where we still need to break through the 5% barrier. Parents, whether we be religious or not, still want to protect our children and others, so some form of home filtering is essential. Also, I have doubts about preserving anonymity regarding emails given the multitude of incessant spam, scams, junk &c.
